On September 30, 2026, CONNECT AI CEO Songyi Yang delivered a guest lecture to GTEP students in the Department of International Trade at Kyung Hee University: “What is an AI trade intelligence professional in the AI era?”

The lecture connected AI-assisted market and buyer discovery, AI visibility that prepares evidence for evaluating a company, and global sales through proposals and follow-up. At the center of this workflow is the trade professional who verifies information, decides what to do next, and connects people and businesses.

The role of an AI trade professional

An overseas buyer starts with the goals their company needs to achieve. Consider a hypothetical food distributor. To grow sales of healthy snacks, it might set purchasing requirements for low-sugar products, ambient storage, trial-order quantities and launch schedules.

When the buyer uses AI to find suppliers under these conditions, an exporter needs verifiable evidence: specifications, certifications, supply terms and examples, alongside product strengths. There must also be a clear route for a person to review the materials and send an inquiry.

Exporters, in turn, need to analyze demand in markets and companies to find suitable buyers. Where these two journeys meet, professionals need to understand the other party’s challenges, check the reliability of information and start a conversation with an appropriate proposal.

AI visibility and global sales as one team

The lecture introduced a collaboration model: “Two pillars of AI trade, one global sales team.”

AI visibility prepares information and evidence so buyers can discover, understand and assess a company. It organizes product information around buyer needs and questions, connecting content such as the website, FAQs and videos.

MORI-based global sales selects suitable buyers and carries out tailored proposals, outreach, response analysis and follow-up. It involves deciding whom to approach with which proposal, then preparing the next response using replies and engagement with materials.

The exchange of information between these roles matters. Questions discovered in sales improve content, and that content supports subsequent proposals and follow-up. Views and repeat visits are clues to interest; purchase intent is confirmed through actual inquiries and conversations.

Two pillars of AI trade, one global sales team: AI visibility builds discovery and trust; MORI global sales executes proposals and follow-up. They share review content, inquiries, buyer questions and responses.

INU GTEP company projects introduced in the lecture

The lecture also introduced two practitioners from Incheon National University GTEP who worked on LALA PINK’s project for the Beauty Days trade show in Poland.

Jung Han-young took the AI visibility role, organizing a digital export foundation that helps buyers understand and assess the company. Kim Hyun-a took the global sales role, handling market and buyer analysis, tailored proposals and outreach, response records and follow-up.

Building expertise through judgment and action

For students learning trade in the AI era, practical experience starts with specific questions.

“Why did you choose this market and buyer?”

“What evidence does a buyer need to assess the company?”

“What will you do next based on the responses you have confirmed?”

The experience of answering these questions with evidence and putting the answers into action becomes a reference for your expertise. For companies, content, buyer information and records of outreach, responses and follow-up accumulate to support the next business opportunity.

Understanding buyers and helping buyers understand your company: the people who connect these two roles build global sales teams for the AI era.
